Geekend Pitch Circus Now Accepting Applications

Pitch Circus is Savannah’s premier startup pitch event and features the brightest
entrepreneurs from the most fundable technology startups in the region.

The event will be hosted by ATDC, Georgia’s technology incubator, on Friday,
February 2, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Startup founders and CEOs will pitch to judges in front of angel
investors and conference attendees from the region. Judges, prize money and in-kind
services from our sponsors will be announced soon.

Each company will be given 6 minutes to present and will answer questions from our
judges immediately after.

ATDC entrepreneurs in residence and startup catalysts will provide the companies
pitching with pitch preparation and coaching in mid-January.

Those interested to participate in Pitch Circus should submit an application on or before January 4, 2018. Selected entrants will be contacted with next steps.

Create The Official T-shirt of Geekend 2016!

Savannah’s an incredibly talented design city. Can you stand out from the crowd to design Geekend’s 2016 T-shirt?

Geekend brings makers, hustlers, hackers, and designers together -– along with other entrepreneurial innovators in the technology and creative spaces to foster new partnerships, create networking opportunities, and kick start the launch of new ideas. The Creative Coast organizes the conference, and a variety of local businesses and thought leaders support the endeavor.

The official t-shirt will be worn by nearly 400 attendees and volunteers. Entrants will receive a discount code and finalists, and the winner, will receive a free ticket to Geekend! Geekend is October 14 and 15 in Savannah, GA.

Rules & Waiver

By entering a design, you agree to the rules below.

Submit as Many Designs as You Like!

  1. The top five T-shirt designs will be picked by a panel of judges. These top designs will then be posted for online voting. The ultimate winner will be determined through this online voting process.
  2. Once submitted, all designs become the property of Geekend, and the designer agrees to grant exclusive use to Geekend and its clothing retailer. You may retain it for your portfolio and use it for self promotion at your own discretion.
  3. The designer must submit his or her own original artwork only. Any non-original logos, photos, or images used in the design must be used only with the express, written permission of the source and also grant Geekend unlimited, free use of that logo, photo, or image.
  4. The designer agrees that the compensation for unlimited use of their T-shirt design by Geekend and their clothing retailer is limited to one ticket to Geekend

T-shirt Design Criteria:

  • All designs must include “2016” and one or more of the following words/phrases: “Geek” or “Geekend.” Designs may also include “Savannah”
  • Designs must be limited to ONE color. Half-tones (i.e. lighter versions) of the color are considered an additional color.
  • Designer may feel free to create someone in multiple colors for their own promotion, but t-shirts will be printed with a single color.
  • Designs must utilize some of the design elements here:

T-shirt Design Format:

    • Please email your design as a JPG file for purposes of initial judging and for posting the top designs for online voting.
    • If your design wins, please be prepared to send your design in Vector format (.EPS, .AI, or .CDR file extensions). This means that the design must be created in either PhotoShop (.EPS), Adobe Illustrator (.AL), or Corel Draw (.CDR).
    • All Vectorized format must include any lettering traced for a fully vectorized final file for our screen printing partner
    • Geekend will NOT accept Word or Publisher files.
    • Winner must also submit a black-and-white version of their design, to provide flexibility in choosing the T-shirt background color.

Final Details:

  1. T-shirt designs must be submitted by September 5, 2016 to Geekend via email to Please use “2016 T-shirt Contest Design Submission” as your subject line.
  2. Geekend reserves the right to request minor revisions to a T-shirt design entry for re-submission.
  3. Geekend may also make revisions to adapt a T-shirt design for additional purposes, including but not limited to use on other clothing, retail items, web, print, or television production.
  4. Geekend reserves the right to reject any and all submissions.
  5. Geekend may pick additional T-shirt designs for use on additional promotional materials (i.e. clothing, retail items, web, or print pieces).

Geekend announces Kodestars Arcade competition

The Creative Coast recently announced KodeStars Arcade at Geekend, a showcase of video games created by middle and high school students.

The showcase will be from 2-4 p.m. Nov. 15 at the Coastal Georgia Center, 305 Fahm St. Games will be available for the public to view and play free of charge.
