Our family at One Spark is proud to be a sponsor of this year’s Geekend, organized by our friends at the Creative Coast. This is our first time attending and, from what we’ve seen so far, the combination of entrepreneurs, innovators, makers, investors, CEOs, and, of course, geeks (a wonderful term of endearment!) makes this a great destination event.Read More

*We will now be using the Flattr app to show the love at Geekend this year! It’s compatible with both iPhone and Android.
This year at Geekend you can “flattr” your favorite speakers and sessions to show the love! If you’re not familiar, Flattr is the latest way to show your appreciation for cool people, ideas and objects both offline and online. Users can click a Flattr button or scan a Flattr QR code to support a person, blog, etc. and at the end of the month money is distributed according to clicks and scans. It’s like a Facebook “Like” button with money on top.Read More

Take a weekend jam-packed with awesomely geeky sessions and speakers. Then top it off with a slew of afterparties to close each night with some seriously good times and a toast. That’s what we like to call Geekend 2011!
We know you’re busy carefully choosing which conference sessions to attend, speakers to Flattr and downloading the glorious Geekend app, too. But leave the afterparty plans to us – we’ve got you covered. Here is a rundown of what we’ve got up our sleeve.
Thursday, Nov. 10th, 8:15 p.m.: Meet us at Rancho Alegre, Savannah’s favorite spot for Cuban fare, to kick off the weekend with fantastic food and drinks! There’s no better way to ring in Geekend.
Friday, Nov. 11th, 7 p.m.: We’ll be keeping the good times coming at The Distillery. With a selection of over 100 craft beers, what more can you ask for? …Drink specials? Yep, we’ll be enjoying those, too. We’re just that good.
Saturday, Nov. 12th, 9 p.m.: Close out Geekend 2011 with a BANG! We will meet up at SEED Eco Lounge for dancing, drinks and a party notorious for taking over the streets. This one’s gonna be big – you won’t want to miss it!
