Our family at One Spark is proud to be a sponsor of this year’s Geekend, organized by our friends at the Creative Coast. This is our first time attending and, from what we’ve seen so far, the combination of entrepreneurs, innovators, makers, investors, CEOs, and, of course, geeks (a wonderful term of endearment!) makes this a great destination event.
So why is One Spark here?
We’re looking to interact directly with you. The makers. The doers. The startups. The investors supporting them and the founders bringing ideas to life.
One Spark is The World’s Largest Crowdfunding Festival. It was created a few years ago as a way for anyone with a great idea, in any stage of development, to get connected with what they need. Crowdfunding in person provides a means to interact directly as we always have, face to face and without barriers. At One Spark, you get direct access to funding and most importantly receive market validation & feedback from the public (which happened to be over 260,000 people last year alone). Beyond that creators from all walks of life get to meet with like-minded people in a festival atmosphere.
Our six-day festival from April 7 – 12, 2015 in downtown Jacksonville, Florida is expected to have greater numbers than last year with more focused pathways for our Creators.
Last year, 609 projects competed for $310,000 in crowdfunds & awards, direct individual contributions and $3.25 million in potential capital investment. This year, we have $350,000 in crowdfunds & awards, direct reward-based individual contributions and are expecting over millions in potential capital investment.
Anyone with an idea, startup, small business, art or music project is welcome to register for One Spark. Our team will have a table in the lobby throughout Geekend to answer any questions you have and share more.
So, grab us while we’re at Geekend and be sure to head to onespark.com for all the details for securing your spot at One Spark 2015.
See you soon.
P.S. Be sure to check out a big announcement from One Spark next week. 😉
