UPDATE! Flattr Your Favorite Sessions and Geeks

*We will now be using the Flattr app to show the love at Geekend this year! It’s compatible with both iPhone and Android.

This year at Geekend you can “flattr” your favorite speakers and sessions to show the love! If you’re not familiar, Flattr is the latest way to show your appreciation for cool people, ideas and objects both offline and online. Users can click a Flattr button or scan a Flattr QR code to support a person, blog, etc. and at the end of the month money is distributed according to clicks and scans. It’s like a Facebook “Like” button with money on top.

Here’s how to participate at Geekend:

1. Sign up to Flattr. (You’ll even be given an invite code with bonus credits you can redeem at Flattr.com/invite!)
2. Get the Geekend iPhone Flattr app – it’s awesome! You can use it to scan Flattr QR codes that will be all over Geekend on badges, conference rooms, etc.
3. When you find something or someone you dig, scan the QR code with the Geekend Flattr app. Delicious food? Flattr it. A new outlook from a session presenter? Flattr them.

The Flattr team will be out in full force at Geekend to help you get started. Also look for Flattr Co-Founder Linus Olsson speaking at 1:30 on Friday, November 11: Can Fans And Followers Pay For Your iPhone 5?
