Mobile has taken main stage and has emerged as a big player in tech over the past several years. Smart phones are quickly becoming an integral part of our daily lives thanks to hip apps and features that we utilize for both work and play.
One specific technology that is pushing the boundaries of mobile is augmented reality. AR is redefining how we interact with our phone and the environment around us.
We are happy to announce that Vivian Rosenthal, AR pioneer and CEO of mobile app GoldRun, will be keynoting Geekend 2011.
GoldRun is an augmented reality app that enables users to locate, interact with and take photos of GPS-linked virtual objects positioned in the real world. Prior to founding GoldRun, Vivian put her entrepreneurial acumen to work as the co-founder of Tronic, a digital media and experiential design company. Her vast knowledge of the digital landscape has led to several industry recognitions and merits, including being named one of Creativity Magazine’s top 50 global creatives of 2010.
Vivian’s keynote presentation will explore the way AR technologies can bridge the gap between the real and digital world.
We can’t wait to step into the world of augmented reality with Vivian. In the mean time, feel free to download GoldRun on your iPhone and start experimenting with the capabilities of AR. You can also follow Vivian on Twitter or explore the many articles and blog posts that have been written about her.
