Get ready to rumble! It's the first day of sessions and workshops. So come ready to learn, share and meet some seriously cool geeks. We hope you are as excited about getting your geek-on as we are and we can't wait to meet each and every one of you! Today's sessions occur at The Guild Hall (615 Montgomery Street).

Think people are important? This session on human centered design and the business advantages of leading with design thinking will be right up your alley.

NASA’s Technology Transfer Program

Did you know NASA has developed over a thousand patented space technologies that also have many uses right here on Earth?  Uses in robotics, environmental remediation, corrosion control, biotech, software, and many, many more.

Through its Technology Transfer Program, NASA makes these extraordinary technologies available to U.S. entrepreneurs, companies, universities and other government agencies so they can be repurposed for these uses.

There’s more Space in your life than you think!  Hundreds of NASA technologies have already been transferred to the U.S. public through this program throughout NASA’s history, and some of these technologies impact our everyday lives.

NASA invites you to learn more about this unique program and how your organization can take advantage of NASA’s latest patented technologies.

The Maker Show doesn’t just tell you but also shows you how products develop from idea to initial prototype, to a final product.  Join this panel of entrepreneurs, inventors and engineers to learn about the process of bringing a physical product to the market.

What Are Investors Looking For?

Is it the product? The concept? The person? The team? A magical combination of these factors? With millions of dollars of investments between them, this session will demystify what investors are looking for.

Pitch Circus

Your chance to climb into the shark tank!

Our expert panelists will serve as the Ring Masters, juggling questions for our companies and from you, the audience, as the entrepreneurs take turns presenting their latest and greatest. The teams and individuals presenting are hand-picked for the event so we know there will be no clowning around. You’ll be able to vote on the winners!

Round 1:  The top finishers from Global Game Jam will present their video games to the audience.  The audience will vote on the more viable game and award a prize to the winner.

Round 2:  Pitches from a few of Savananah’s hottest tech startups.

Day 02: Saturday, January 28th

Geeks go hard! Never mind the after party on Friday, it's another full day of interesting topics and inspiring ideas. We know you're going to need a little more coffee than usual. We're ready! We promise! Today's sessions occur at The Guild Hall (615 Montgomery Street).

What Makes for a Smart City?

It might be awhile before we join the Jetsons in Orbit City but smart cities are just around the corner (and, in some cases, here). Integrating IT with IOT (that’s Internet of Things) to help manage everything from streetlights to parking. This panel will share best practices and opportunities that come from building Smarter Cities. There will be an emphasis on funding and building a team to solve some real problems.

Building an MVP and Scaling Lean

How do you know what your customers want? How do you deliver those features? AND easily validate their demand? This panel has been there and done that and will tell you all about it.  From the MVP (minium viable product) to building  sustainable business and revenue model a successful entrepreneur must constantly make decisions about how to allocate their precious resources – time and money.  Join these entrepreneurs as they talk about lessons they learned in launching their products and building companies.

Social Media Smackdown

Is your business’s social media presence serving you well? Put it in front of this panel of experts for live feedback. Learn from real examples not abstract principles! To get your endeavor picked for consideration, tweet in advance to our panel.

Did you ever wonder how much planning and creative energy goes into building video games?  What should the plot line be?  What are the rewards that will keep players coming back to play again?  What should the characters look like and how should they move?  How should the game sound and what types of music and sound effects should be included?
Join this panel of video game creators to learn more about how these decisions get made and what goes into creating successful video games.

Indie Game Awards Presentations

Grab a drink and join us for our awards presentation to the indie game developers that showcased their games in our Indie Game Arcade.  The game creators will each present to the crowd and answer questions about their game. Project MQ will present the people’s choice award.
