Bethany Armstrong is a scholar of user experience, film, design and mother of one feisty 14 month little girl. She received her BFA in 2006 from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI, her MFA in 2010 from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, IL and is currently a professor at SCAD in Graphic Design and User Experience. Ms. Armstrong has been a professor of Visual Communications and User Experience in the USA and the Middle East. Her practice focuses on teaching human centered design process, semiotics, and typography. She educates students to think critically about communication, representation, their own personal visual heritage, and how to employ visual language to create connections between audience and form.
Bethany’s wide ranging career spans from fashion design to film and television, identity design, experiential design, typography and publication. Some of her clients have included the NFL, Jose Cuervo, and most recently she worked as the Graphic Designer for the film Lizzie, due this year, starring Chloë Sevingy.
Ms.Armstrong has also been part of art and design exhibitions in the US as well as China.
