Cyril Guichard started his career in traditional advertising, working in agencies such as Leo Burnett, Havas, and Saatchi and Saatchi before shifting to digital advertising in the early 2000s. Cyril’s skill in energizing website content with game mechanics – along with a specialization for working within the tight constraints of heavily-legislated industries — led to a series of prize-winning campaigns for Diageo, Hard Rock Casinos and Hotels and Camel tobacco products, among others. Parallel to his advertising career, Cyril nurtured his life-long love of gaming by producing independent titles and has created over 30 games, both individually and in collaboration with others, including the Outpost franchise that attracted over 17 million players. He is the co-founder of Garage Collective, an independent game studio.
In 2015, he joined the Interactive Design and Game Development (ITGM) faculty of the Savannah College of Art and Design. His courses run the gamut from coding to game design to portfolio development and he strives to help young designers pursue careers with major studios and indie start-ups alike.
